About this policy
This policy describes Decodex at decodex.fyi, maintained by GitHub user jinsu100.
Text you convert
Encoding and decoding happen in your browser. The converter does not upload your input or output to a conversion server, send that text as an analytics event, or maintain a server-side conversion history. Copying a result puts it on your device’s clipboard. Your browser or device may retain form or clipboard contents according to its own settings.
Files you convert
Selected files, their contents and converted output are processed in your browser, without upload to a conversion server. Decodex does not send file contents or filenames as analytics events. Downloads are saved by your browser to your device. Your browser and device may retain downloaded files until you delete them.
Visit statistics
Decodex uses Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. It can process page addresses, referring sites, visit times, browser and device information, approximate location, and usage events. Feature statistics record encoding and decoding successes and failures, result copies, conversion mode, interface language, automatic or manual conversion, and fixed error categories. These events do not include input text, output text, character counts, or error messages. Automatic conversions are counted after the result remains unchanged for 1.5 seconds; intermediate results are excluded. Analytics uses cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits. Do not put confidential text in a page URL, because page addresses can appear in analytics.
Google processes this information under its own policies. Cookie lifetimes and analytics retention depend on service settings and browser behavior. See how Google uses information from partner sites and the Google privacy policy.
Language preference
The site reads your browser’s language to choose from the supported languages. When you choose a language yourself, it saves that choice in your browser’s local storage. This preference remains until you clear site data or change it; it does not contain your conversion text.
Display theme
Initially, the site follows your device’s light or dark appearance. Choosing a theme with the dark mode button saves only that preference in your browser’s local storage, so it stays consistent across pages and visits. Clearing site data restores the device default. The theme preference does not contain conversion text.
Hosting and external services
Cloudflare Pages hosts Decodex. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request URLs and technical request information to deliver and protect the site. Google, Cloudflare and GitHub process information under their own policies and may process it outside your country. Retention and privacy request options depend on the provider. GitHub remains the source-code and public-issue platform.

Your choices
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser, restrict cookies or analytics requests with browser controls, and change your language using the language switch. Google also offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. Clearing site data removes the saved language choice but does not delete information already processed by external providers.
Advertising and advertising cookies
Decodex does not currently display ads or load AdSense advertising code. The following describes how Google AdSense would process information if ads are introduced; it does not mean advertising is active today.
If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and third-party advertising providers may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this site or other websites. Google advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to serve personalized ads based on those visits. Advertising providers may process information such as IP addresses, browser details and ad interactions under their own policies.
You can manage or opt out of Google personalized ads in Google My Ad Center and review third-party advertising choices at AboutAds.info. Where required, a consent message will be provided before the relevant advertising storage or processing; you can then change your choices through that message. Provider details and this policy will be updated when advertising is introduced.
